Class Size

One advantage of the UMS approach is our strict adherence to classroom enrollment limitations to ensure effective instruction can occur. The maximum size for academic classes per grade level is:

• K-5th Grade: 16 students per classroom
• 6th-8th grade: 18 students per classroom
• 9th-12th grade: 20 students per classroom

Some elective classes may exceed grade level numbers for the benefit of effective teaching or the functions of the course. However, emphasis on instructional excellence will be maintained at all time.
